The average American eats around 6,500 calories on Christmas Day.
Not too bad, right? I mean come on…it’s the holidays!
To put that into a little perspective, that’s the equivalent of:
- 26,000 burpees
- 81 ¼ mile run
- 13 hours on the erg
- 32,500 push ups.
Holy smack-a-moly. Now we’re listening!
Nutrition during the holiday season is challenging for everyone – and fitness enthusiasts aren't immune to irrational or irresponsible food decisions. We’re human!
The bottom line is that we cannot justify our gluttony by a date on a calendar, social expectations or abundance of Christmas cookies.
The only thing that dictates what goes into your body is you.
It’s not about abolishing holiday treats altogether. It’s about eating consciously. It’s about slowing down and paying attention. It’s about remembering who we are, what we want to be and more importantly, what we don’t.
P.s. If all else fails, there’ll always be burpees. 26,000 of them. No biggie.
